Support for Protonmail / Private IPv4 for IMAP and SMTP#710

It would be nice to be able to add Protonmail emails.
For the moment, it’s impossible to use Protonmail because “Private IPv4 address is not supported” and protonmail use a local app to “encrypting and decrypting messages as they enter and leave your computer”.

Yes! This sounds like a simple feature to add. Imagine, Newton features and Protonmail encryption… simply macical!

Would love to see any updates on this! I’m currently loving the interface of Newton, but I can’t use my main email on Proton because of this issue.

Please can you add Protonmail to the compatibility of supported platforms? Pretty fedup with google monopoly and its lack of privacy!!

I agree - new comment for 2024. This is a big disappointment; I can’t get Mailspring to work properly on my system. I had high hopes for Newton :-(
