@Justin Mitchell It’s been over a week since you issued an optimistic mention of having a solution in hand for the server issues. When can the many long-suffering, paid subscribers to Newton feel the relief, Justin?
P.S. Re-auth/logout & log back in, has never worked well, and was never an acceptable work around. These maneuvers are working less well than before. It’s as if the servers for some of my accounts are completely broken and for my least used account, I get an email once in a while.
He even lied a week ago, about submitting an update to App Store. How come, there is no update…
@Balint alovits We need to be fair to @Justin Mitchell . Newton issued a patch to fix the iOS 17/MacOS 14 crash. The server issue is not fixed. I am just as frustrated as you. BTW, I have actually downloaded and spent 20 USD on Canary Mail today. So far, it’s pretty much everything I loved about Newton minus the cleaner GUI, but some other features that Newton lacks. I have removed Newton from my Dock for now and would consider using it again, but I am increasingly thinking I might be a former Newton user.
@David Fresco . Yes. I’d be patient if this issue has not been around for ages. Yes. For ages. And this is not a charity shop for Justin Mitchell. This is a paid app. They literally take your money and not providing the service. I think this is not accaptable.
@Balint alovits I never mentioned patience. I only wanted to offer some credit for fixing the crash bug. My patience is already stretched as I am using Canary now.
@David Fresco check out Spark. It’s fantastic and It’s my go to app right now until Newton has been fixed reliably. I just wish it had read receipts.
I liked Newton a lot and was a subscriber for many years, but it has become state with nothing new being added. Same bugs, same issues, no new features for like 3 years! I switched to Canary and have been very happy for 6 months using it.
